Explanation of Common LCD Screen Malfunctions
Fault phenomenon; Half of the image on the left and right sides of the screen appears black with trailing characters
Fault analysis; The half screen image is abnormal and the response is slow.
This is due to the different Y-axis power supply methods of the LCD screen,
and the displayed faults are also different. Generally,
machines with slow overall screen response are powered by a single Y.
The reason for the slow response of half screen is that there is Y power supply on both sides,
half of which is normal and half of which is faulty. Therefore,
the main reasons for the slow response of half screen displayed on the screen are；
① X1 is damaged and the half screen response is slow. The logic circuit can be initially judged as normal,
but the Y-axis power supply circuit is supplied from X1 to Y1. When X1 is damaged and disconnected,
Y1 power supply is abnormal, and the half screen shows slow response and dimming.
This fault can be judged by manually pressing X1 to see if there is any change in the image. If there is, replace X1
② Y1 is damaged and poorly connected. X1 has normal power supply,
but Y1 is damaged and the image shows slow half screen response. The inspection method is the same as above. After confirming the fault, replace Y1
③ The electrode between X1 and Y1 is open circuited, which is a very common fault.
The slow response of the half screen accounts for 70% of the fault points here.
Finding the location of the broken wire and flying the wire again can solve it.
Note: Many technicians use the method of cutting off the Y power supply on one side
to deal with such faults when measuring, but this is unreasonable and can reduce
the clarity of the image and the lifespan of the screen. In fact,
dealing with such problems can be solved as soon as they are offline.
